Informativa sulla privacy di Memor

Ultimo aggiornamento: 1 ottobre 2026

Contatto: [email protected].

In breve

Accesso a Internet

I tuoi diritti

Privacy policy for Memor

Last updated: October 1, 2026

Memor is an Android app developed by Elio Gargiulo (Italy), who is also responsible for this policy. Contact: [email protected].

In short

Memor does not collect, send or sell any personal data. It requires no sign-up and contains no ads or analytics. The developer receives no user data.

Internet access

The app uses the internet only when the user taps “Find trivia” in an event's details: it then asks Wikipedia for that day's trivia, sending only the day and month, without the title, names or any other event data. As with any website, Wikipedia receives the device's IP address and processes it according to the Wikimedia Foundation privacy policy.

Data processed

  • Events entered (title, dates, notes, name of the chosen contact): they stay in the app's database on the phone, in private storage protected by the Android system.
  • Calendar (optional permission): if the user picks a calendar in the settings, Memor copies its events there and reads them back to restore them. Cloud sync (e.g. Google Calendar) is the user's own calendar sync, handled by the Android system and the calendar provider.
  • Contacts (optional permission): when the user picks a contact, Android grants access to that contact's name only. If the user grants the permission while importing a file, Memor reads the names of the contacts on the phone only to link imported events to contacts with the same name. With the “WhatsApp and Telegram buttons” option on, for today's events Memor checks in the contacts whether the linked contact is on WhatsApp or Telegram, to show the button that opens the chat; the message is written in the chat app. No contact data leaves the phone.
  • Backup: export creates a JSON file in the location chosen by the user; import reads only the file the user selects. If Android backup is enabled, the system may save the app's data to the user's Google account, according to the device settings.

Permissions

The calendar and contacts permissions are optional and serve only the features described above: if the user denies them, the app still works without those features. They can be revoked at any time from Settings → Apps → Memor → Permissions.

Deleting data

Uninstalling the app, or going to Settings → Apps → Memor → Storage → Clear data, deletes the local data. Events copied to the calendar are deleted from the calendar itself, or by choosing “No calendar” in Memor's settings. Backup files saved by the user stay where they are.

Google Play

The app is downloaded and updated through Google Play, which processes data according to its own privacy policy. If the user has agreed to share diagnostic data, Google may provide the developer with aggregated, anonymous statistics about app crashes.

Children

The app is not specifically directed at children under 13, and the developer collects no data from anyone.

Your rights

Since the developer receives no data, there is no data to access, correct or delete. You can still write to the address below with any question. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).

Changes to this policy

Any changes will be published on this page, with the date of the update.
